The Stitch Chalk Rug represents a modern take on a centuries-old weaving tradition. Handmade in Northern India, this beige area rug was crafted by laying 2’-wide panels side by side—slightly offset at the top and bottom—and stitching them together to create a full-sized piece. This technique is inspired by nomadic tribes that would travel on horseback with portable looms. The limited size of the looms led the weavers to create smaller strips to be joined together later on. With its simple, neutral striped pattern and durable, tight weave, this rug brings inviting warmth and texture to any space.
