For these drink coasters, New York-based ceramicist Andrew Molleur takes cues from his Carrara Serve Bowl, Platter and Trivet, which feature the same marbling and matte texture. Technique is key: The marbling is achieved by swirling two colors of porcelain together and applying it to the mold. By virtue of their handmade quality, no two coasters are completely alike. And don’t forget their functionality: The concentric circle grooves catch any drips, making these pieces as useful as they are beautiful.
